I got another watch and this time it is from the classic brand Seiko. I have overlooked Seiko watches because it is so common and there are lots of fakes. I am not wrong but recently I have learned that the high end watches still fetch a hefty sum, a quarter of a million pesos for new and limited editions and these are the ones made in Japan, for real. Okaaayy.. so maybe it is only right that I include Seiko in my collection but I needed to find something unique and not scream Seiko. Usually those stainless steel silver or gold watches, right? I found one in leather, of course and I couldn't find a seller locally. It is available on Ebay for less but it will take some time for it to get here then there's the custom dues. Some decades past this is not a problem, most of the watches I have I bought off from Ebay. And they just ship those watches in the mail like some letters, lol. Anyway, can't hurt to ask so I asked the official Seiko seller online if they have that particular design and yes, they do and it is the last one! Oh, really, it better be coz I want to be the only one who's got that, so I got it. And it is here now after 4 days, wow. Shipping is faster now on Lazada and the other one lags since they got greedy and decided to handle the shipping and delivery themselves when they don't know shit. Hence, all the delays. Whatever.
Ok, lets start. The outer box is a bit shabby so is the inner box that holds the watch itself, ditto for the pillow that cushions the watch. I can only roll my eyes, I mean, the watches I got for less from other brands have such sturdy and elegant boxes. And this Seiko just happens to be the most expensive watch I bought to date and it's shabby, really. can't hold a candle to Fossil's specially designed tin cans, Emporio Armani's elegant boxes, same with Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY, Kenneth Cole and Mondaine. For the price and if you give some importance to your watch and elevate it to something worthy of its expensive price then the customer will look favorably upon it. Seiko, your box is shabby 'SHabehh.
The watch itself is anticlimatic. It is not stunning and kinda small for 30mm watch. Ok, my bad, it says, 29.9mm so it is more a 28 than a 30 lol. The calf leather strap is thin in the darkest shade of brown, it was written in the description as black lol. (it is bad habit to end almost all my sentences with lol hahaha.)
Yea, so the watch looks like the one in the picture but I wish it is more I dunno - dazzling? sigh.
I seem to be getting the same watches with just a slight variation in the design and the color of the leather strap. Between the Mondaine, Emporio Armani and this Seiko, which one do I like best then? I will have a look again tomorrow Mondaine's face is clear and the red second hand is what makes it unique. the Emporio Armani watch in dark blue leather and elegant silver case is also nice to look at but it is missing a second hand, which I didn't know would bother me. It is a quiet sweep so I thought the watch stopped and had to consult my smartphone if that was indeed the time. the reason one still wears a watch these days is because you need an immediate answer to what time is it now with just a flick of the wrist. So without a second hand you doubt the timepiece. But Emporio Armani's got some nice watches, really.
Maybe I would have been more excited with the Kate Spade watch. Yes, Eat Cake for Breakfast!
